Optimizing Data Access to IBM DB2 [HiT Software]

May 20, 2010

Enterprises today demand a fast, accurate and flexible approach to data access. Application developers for IBM DB2 data have been challenged by where the data resides, which environment on which to build applications, and how to remain platform neutral in the event of a major shift in technology. In many cases, businesses are looking to extract data from corporate databases and use smaller, more versatile databases such as MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server to write business applications. Enterprises also need to integrate data in various formats (such as XML or CSV text) with their core DB2 databases.

This white paper takes a modern look at the principal issues facing project managers and developers in designing and implementing a new, more complex generation of applications that involve DB2 data access and integration. In midmarket organizations, there is always the additional pressure of cost of investment, both in resources and systems.
